Half my heart is in heaven

New poem

Half My Heart in Heaven

We poured our love into the song.
You worked the stage like a pro.
My guitar and me, we played along.
The audience took part.
They sang with their heart.
Because you wanted them to.
You live forever as I sing
with half my heart in heaven.

Songs speak in the language of love.
It comes from the heart of the singer.
You and me, we bared our souls
to the people of the street.
Muscle memory is a powerful thing.
The heart is a muscle and
supposedly is inhabited by a soul.

My soul aches for yours when I sing.
You were the love of my life
and brought the sunshine in.
Those were the days of our lives.
Gone in the swiftness of time.
Those days are all gone but one thing remains.
I look and i find
I still love you.

I don’t know how life can go on.
I wish i could bring you back.
You don’t know how
much you mean to me.

When i grow older i will sing our song
with the people of the street.
Love for you will soar to heaven.
Once more our voices will meet.
Our days on earth are gone
but one thing remains.
I look and find how much i love you. I still love you.
