Sometimes I set my thinking cap
upon my head
and prepare to write.
I pull out my comfy laptop
or a pen.
I start with a good theme
but then negativity creeps in.
I have made some poetry rules
for myself and one of them is grumbling.
Never grumble.
Never be mawkish,
never be conceited.
I ask my muse if she
will dictate the words
with which I write.
A poem may happen.
A really unique one.
If I relax it just might.
