High Altitudes

To scale the dazzling and dizzy upper slopes of the stave takes courage and persistence, a willingness to sound like a screech and be a stubborn follower of the horizontal philosophy. Drop sandbag notes over the side as you ascend like a hot air balloon. Instead of thinking of the heights you are aspiring to, think of the space between you and the ground. Try not to have vertigo. Drop your jaw and let the High A’s and B’s form golden clouds below you as you pass them. To sing high you must think low. You do not need to be loud to do this. In fact, the softer the better. Not necessary to be loud. Oh, one more thing. have fun. How could you not when the high altitude feels so good?
