I have written a new poem about one of those memory books you hold onto while your child is growing up. The book is used to hold all the art work and memorabilia children bring home. I hope you like my poem.
Fill me up with memories.
Moments captured in time.
Red letter days.
Tickets to a show.
A traced small hand outline.
A school assignment emblazoned with a star.
A drawing of a red sports car.
Fathers’ Day cards too.
A swimming survival certificate.
A pen licence from a past assembly.
All this is not stuff but a cherished memory.
Times of learning
Times of growth.
Times when you are needed the most.
TIme goes by so very fast.
It is so very easy to miss it.
Hold onto some things as they go past.
Store them here before it
slips beyond your grasp.
