Rainbow’s End

Wednesday morning the results were in.
At 10 am hopefully new ideas would begin.
Acceptance and diversity
would be the order of the day.
I don’t know what it is like to walk
in the shoes of another.
I don’t have that perspective so I cannot say.
I know what it is like for a loved one not to fit in.
For them to be treated like a second class citizen. Trying so hard but never getting there.
Life sometimes is just not fair.
Trudging along life’s path in the
stuff that makes you you.
Accepting yourself for who you are
is all you can do.
Facing life through your eyes and
hopefully finding a friend.
Finding your version of treasure at the
rainbow’s end.
